The Green Man - Inglewhite
Our visit to the Green Man was brief but enjoyable. We were passing through the Lancashire Cheese Zone of Bowland and happened upon the pub, which has a very good reputation, and stopped in for a quick pint.
It looks as though the pub has been refurbished fairly recently, and it looks spotless. The service was friendly and the beer selection was good - some real ales I'd not tried before! The menu was impressive and very good value, and I liked the fact that you could get a bacon bap for just £2 if you were in need of a late breakfast. There were lots of home-made cakes on sale too, which showed the owners enjoyed cooking.
So, just a quick visit, but very good first impressions!

Visited this pub for a food last night. The pub is charming and very clean despite all the knick knacks. The food is very good, well cooked, well presented and tasty. However, the portion of chips for two was what I would call a decent portion for one! Also had a dessert which was also nice but not sure it was worth the £3.95 they charged for it. My one major complaint is that the landlady is a bit of a jeckyll & hyde character. Very pleasant and chatty until we asked where our dessert was after 35 minutes of patiently waiting (only waited 15 mins for main course). Got our heads bitten off for our trouble with the landlady complaining that they were dealing with starters and mains and there are only 3 of us. Think the problem was that there was a bit of a surge in customers but still no excuse for rudeness! Would I go again? Yes for the food if the service was less changeable - don't think I will be in a rush to go back any time soon.
Though local to this pub, I'm not a very regular pub goer. Having said that, I've always had great beer, and lashings of great pub food here at the Green Man at Inglewhite.
Not sure what happened with the other anonymous poster, but there's always plenty of chips!
As for the service, I've been there as the only customer, and also when the place is heaving - whatever the situation, we've always had great and very friendly service and although occasionally pushed when really busy (it is a family run pub) food and drink are always timely and delivered with a smile.
Worth a drive out to, and we often meet friends there..
So my verdict: A 9.95 out of 10! and we have lots of good competition to choose from locally...
Disagree with Anonymous(pity they
can't put a name !!!!)
we dine out weekly and there is not
another hotel or pub that provides
better food and friendly service in
this area. We are never disappointed, always made so welcome, have recommended to many,
The quality of the food is excellent, well worth a visit.
